Andrean High School is proud to announce the hiring of Jack Cundiff as the school’s new varsity boys basketball coach. Cundiff, a Munster High School graduate, was an assistant coach there for 12 seasons, consistently taking on increased roles with the successful Mustang basketball program. “We are extremely excited to have Jack Cundiff lead this new era of 59er boys basketball,” Andrean Athletic Director Neil Dimos said. “There were many great candidates for the position, both internal and external, but Jack set himself apart during the process with his visions of culture and program sustainability.” Cundiff’s appointment marks his first varsity head coaching role. His extensive experience in grassroots basketball includes nearly a decade with the Nike EYBL program Meanstreets in Chicago, and he currently coaches with Indiana Game on the Under Armour Rise Circuit. "I am incredibly honored to be named the Head Varsity Basketball Coach at Andrean High School,” Cundiff said. “Andrean has such a proud and rich history that I can’t wait to immerse myself in through our players, school, community, and alumni. The energy and enthusiasm surrounding Andrean is contagious, and I'm thrilled to be a part of it.” 59er fans will not only see Cundiff as a part of the basketball program, but he will be a fixture in the school beginning in the 2025-26 school year as he has also accepted a full time position at Andrean. “Having Coach Cundiff in the building every day is going to be a major asset for both the program and Jack,” Andrean principal Jaycob Knazur said. “Not only will he be able to build a rapport with his basketball players and the entire student body as we start this new era, he’ll also have the opportunity to begin his career as an educator with the outstanding faculty here at the school mentoring him.” "The opportunity to be in the building full-time is invaluable,” Cundiff added. “Building strong relationships with our players, students, and staff on a daily basis creates a strong sense of community that allows me to be more connected to our program. I believe this daily presence will be instrumental in building a sustainable culture that will be the identity of Andrean Basketball." With off-season training already underway, Coach Cundiff is ready to hit the ground running by meeting and working with his players while also adding to his coaching staff. "I'm excited to get started immediately. Meeting with the players and beginning our work together is my top priority,” said Cundiff. "We have a lot to accomplish in the off-season, and I'm eager to begin the process of establishing our identity of playing hard, smart, and together while being relentlessly competitive. Additionally, we are in the process of building a strong coaching staff that will be instrumental in the growth and success of the program." The 59ers begin the 2025-26 campaign with a scrimmage at Portage on November 22 followed by the first game of the season at home against South Bend Adams on November 25.
