MERRILLVILLE, IN — Senior student-athlete Matthew Meyer has chosen to continue his academic and athletic career at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN. The Wabash College Little Giants are a member of the North Coast Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III. Matthew will be both a member of the cross country and track teams for the Little Giants.
Former Andrean coach Don Reed, one of Matthew’s mentors, had this to say about Matt, “Matt was one of the most dedicated and hard-working athletes I have worked with in my 18 years of coaching. Wabash is getting a great addition to their program, and I look forward to watching Matt’s running career continue at the next level.”
Matthew had this to say about the opportunity, “Wabash just seemed like a perfect fit for me academically and athletically. It gave me a chance to compete at the collegiate level along with honing in on great academics. The coaching staff at Wabash especially Coach McCreary helped me a lot through this difficult and exciting process. Andrean helped me for the next step by providing me the tools and foundation to get into Wabash. Andrean also allowed me the opportunities to better prepare myself for college through the curriculum and the athletics.”
Matthew has accomplished a lot in his career at Andrean. He has earned Academic All-State honors, All-Conference, qualified for regionals, and qualified for indoor state. Matt also participates in Andrean’s internship program, is a member of the National Honor Society, and a member of our State Quiz Bowl team.
