Andrean’s girls track team took 6th place with 32 points out of 11 teams Tuesday at the IHSAA Sectional held at Lowell High School. Andrean was led by senior Jordenne Hudson and junior Lilli Greiner.
Jordenne took home 1st place in both the 100 Meter Hurdles and 300 Meter Hurdles with times of 14.89 and 45.93, respectively. Jordenne’s 300m time came within 0.5 seconds of the sectional record set in 2015 by Crown Point’s Kristen LaCosse. Jordenne was the only 59er to win an event at the sectional this year. Jordenne accounted for 20 of the 59ers team points on the day.
Lilli placed 3rd in the 1600 Meter Run and 4th in the 3200 Meter Run with times of 5:34.32 and 12:16.55, respectively. Lilli accounted for 11 of the 59ers team points on the day.
Victoria Moore also scored a point by placing 8th in the shot put.
Jordenne and Lilli will compete in the IHSAA Regionals held at Portage High School on Tuesday, May 21st with a chance to advance to state.
Boys Track and Field Sectional will be held Thursday at Crown Point High School.
